OKC’s Newest Boutique Barbecue Joint Shares Fall-Worthy Cocktail Recipes

The Smoking Boar on Britton and May is serving barbecue in a whole new way, and at the same time, offering up cocktails with a twist.

Partners Jason Johnson and Alex Hammill shared the recipes for cocktails to try with their smoked salmon, pork belly sliders with kimchi or pecan-smoked ribs.

Grandma’s Solo Cup

2 ounces peach tea-infused Old Forrester’s bourbon

2 ounces lemonade

Mix well.

Margie B. Margarita

2 ounces Escalante Resposado tequila

1/4 ounce dried curacao 

3/4 ounce lime 

1/4 ounce Cassis Black Currant

Splash of agave and 3 muddled blackberries

Mix. Garnish with blackberries and lime slices.

Forrest & Jenny

2 ounces Beefeater gin

1/2 ounce lime juice

1/2 ounce Orgeat simple syrup

1/2 Aperol

Splash of strawberry preserves

Mix well and strain.

Smoking Boar Old Fashioned

2 ounces Elijah Craig bourbon

1/2 dropper tobacco bitters

1/4 ounce Vanilla Demerara

Mix and serve with cherry and orange slice.
